The CRU, which was before the committee yesterday, stated that the ESB informed it four years ago that it was performing to a very high standard environmentally. It said it took the ESB's assurances at face value. Was that a factual position to relay to the CRU? Did the ESB specifically inform the EPA or the Department in 2009 or beforehand about the leaks?
