I have never been present at either public or private family law cases and I am not entirely sure that I understand the interplay of the guardian ad litemand legal representation, particularly in the context of a public case. Are there instances in which a child might have a child protection social worker from Tusla, a guardian ad litemand legal representation? How well does that work? Does it work seamlessly? Am I misunderstanding the process? Is it difficult for a child to have to deal with three professionals, all of whom have slightly different responsibilities and possibly a different perspective or philosophy or does it work seamlessly?
