The reason that vacant possession or removal of tenants is not required for sale in the UK is that there are provisions allowing a landlord to remove tenants within a prescribed period of time. It is a little bit disingenuous to make that point because it is much easier to get vacant possession in the UK which allows a person to sell on that basis.
