Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine

Live Exports: Discussion

Mr. Seamus Scallan:

That rule was actually in place all the time, but it was not enforced. The nine-one-nine rule meant that, from the time animals left Rosslare, one had 19 hours to get to the feeding station to feed them. Normally, in leaving Rosslare for Cherbourg, if the first two stations were full, we were able to continue on to the next one to feed the calves.
