Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine

Live Exports: Discussion

Mr. Seamus Scallan:

If we went from Rosslare to Wales, it would take three hours on the ship. It would take six hours to cross Wales and England, bringing the total to nine hours. The ship to France would be another three hours, meaning we would be out there in 12 hours. That means there is a seven-hour difference in the journey of the calves.
