I propose that we go into private session to deal with EU scrutiny before returning to public session. Is that agreed? Agreed.

I again remind everybody to switch off their mobile phones completely as they interfere with recording equipment. Before we commence today's business, as Chair of this committee I wish to express my condolences, and I am sure the condolences of the committee, to the families of those who have been bereaved recently as a result of road traffic accidents. Their trauma and loss is greatly felt, not just locally but throughout the country.
