The national forensic mental health service's caseload is 250 prisoners and at any one time there are between 20 and 30 prisoners awaiting admission.. However, decisions on admission to the CMH are entirely a matter for the hospital itself. It may be the case that notwithstanding the fact that one is on a waiting list, he or she may never be admitted into the CMH.
