They might be lost, or life might become incredibly difficult for the artists. Many artists live on very little, and their dedication to their art or their craft is such that they are willing to put up with that. There has to be some recognition of the need for sustainability for them. If people are looking with concern to what is happening to the Arts Council at the moment, with the threats to Aosdána, although most artists are not in a position to avail of that, it shows that the little support there is may be fading away. That said, we do get funding from the Arts Council and the local county council in Leitrim.
