At our meeting on 8 November 2016 it was agreed that three EU proposals - COM (2016) 443, COM (2016) 444 and COM (2016) 470 - concerning the comprehensive economic and trade agreement warranted further scrutiny and that the committee would begin its consideration with a briefing by officials of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. I welcome Mr. Philip Kelly, assistant secretary; Ms Lorraine Benson, principal officer; Mr. Karl Finnegan, assistant principal officer, and Ms Caroline Kiernan, higher executive officer, to discuss the topic with us.
