Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach

Central Bank (Variable Rate Mortgages) Bill 2016: Central Bank of Ireland

9:30 am

Mr. Bernard Sheridan:

It is a good question. It is something we thought about when we were given these new powers to regulate something that is the servicing agent rather than the loan owner. Our powers with the banks and the other regulated credit firms are that we can talk directly to the CEOs, we can go to board meetings and we can engage at the highest level.
