I will move on to the issue of tracker mortgages. I was a little confused by the response to a question posed by Deputy Pearse Doherty. Mr. Mallon stated the media reports that approximately 2,000 accounts were affected is largely accurate. He initially stated in response to Deputy Doherty's question that he did not know how many of these mortgage holders lost their homes. He stated he did not have figures on that and subsequently suggested a figure of 14 or 15. Surely he either has the figures or he does not have them. I do not understand that the bank would not know exactly how many tracker mortgages were affected considering it is on the point of sending out letters and will have done analysis of how many homes were lost.
