As we have a quorum of three members present, we will commence the meeting. I remind members that this meeting is being conducted in public session.

I remind members and witnesses to turn off their mobile phones or switch them to flight mode. Mobile phones interfere with the sound system and make it difficult for parliamentary reporters to report the meeting. Television coverage and web streaming would also be adversely affected.

Members are reminded of a long-standing parliamentary practice to the effect that Members should not comment on, criticise or make charges against a person outside the House, or any official by name or in such a way as to make him or her identifiable.

Are members agreeable to inviting the chairman designate of An Post to a meeting of the committee at the earliest convenience? He has been waiting for a number of months to appear before the committee. We are awaiting the formation of the joint committee, but it would be appropriate to invite him to a meeting of this committee, perhaps next week if convenient for him. Is that agreed? Agreed.
