I would like to refer to a motion we discussed in private session. In light of the cross-sectoral nature of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, TTIP, and the range of views held in respect of the TTIP process, it is important for this committee to engage in a constructive and comprehensive consideration of the TTIP issues within its remit with a view to a specific output; namely, a report to the Dáil. If we are to produce a balanced report, it is important for us to hear from a wide range of stakeholders on all sides of the debate. Therefore, I propose that we ask the Library and Research Service to prepare a scoping note which includes a list of stakeholders and sets out a proposed focus for our engagement with them. This can be considered in conjunction with the list suggested by Deputy Tóibín when we discuss the committee's annual report for 2015 and work programme for 2016 at our first meeting of the new year. I would like to put the motion now.

Question, "That the committee request the Library and Research Service to prepare a scoping note to include proposed stakeholders and set out a focus for the committee's engagement on TTIP" put.
