When I make appointments to boards, I let people get on with it, I don't expect them to come back and tell me what's the minutes of last month's meeting, you know, that's not the way I operate. You appoint people, you entrust them with a position of responsibility because of their experience and their track record, and you expect them to contribute in the collective authority that they're involved in without reference back to me, otherwise what's the point in appointing them?
