In fact, as I recall it, the prospect of a guarantee, which was raised earlier that morning in relation to acquiring Irish Life and Permanent, had been mentioned to me during the summer of 2008 in a conversation with the Governor of the Central Bank. He mentioned to me that there was lobbying for a system-wide guarantee for all banks.
