Professor Kane mentioned that Anglo Irish Bank should have been nationalised earlier. I appreciate, as Professor Kane stated, that he is not a scholar of the banking crisis in Ireland. However, can he explain the difference between nationalising Anglo Irish Bank, which has at this point imposed losses in the region of €30 billion on taxpayers, and guaranteeing it? What difference would this have made?
