Mr. Nyberg notes in his report that in regard to the bank management and boards, "Observers, analysts and consultants invited to address bank management and boards did . . . point out the increased funding and liquidity risks". At the same time, "there is no evidence that this made a discernible impression" on these boards or people and, "This is not surprising given that many of these same invitees simultaneously stressed the need to grow rapidly without suggesting alternative funding sources". Could Mr. Nyberg go into this point at greater length? Why were people advising the banks that they needed to grow?
