On a point of order, my understanding of an ambassadorial role is the complete opposite to that of the previous speaker. There are political obligations on Ministers with responsibility for foreign affairs to deal with these political matters with the Taoiseach. I seek a ruling from the Chairman on whether it is appropriate that an ambassador, who is an agent of the country, is subject to these questionings because they are more appropriate to the political bosses who run the show.
