Road Traffic Offences: An Garda Síochána
9:40 am
Mr. John Twomey:
No. We are happy with the court process and we are happy that the provider attends as a witness on our behalf. We prosecute the case. A member of An Garda Síochána could also be a witness. GoSafe is one arrow in the quiver, so to speak. We have a number of elements and processes by which we enforce the Road Traffic Act. A garda could be giving evidence tomorrow in another case, sitting in the same seat as the GoSafe personnel. I acknowledge that issues may arise in other cases and at that stage we may have to revert.
