As matters stand, the provision in the 1971 Act applies to banks, so if a bank was transferring assets and liabilities pursuant to that statutory scheme, there is a framework in place for notification. If this Bill is enacted, that same framework would apply to a building society - in this case ICS, being the only remaining building society in the State.
