Emphasis is now being placed on the Asian markets, in particular China which has a connection with Taiwan. Why do we not participate with other European Union countries which have a presence in Taiwan in a single office? European Union countries are represented in a single office in Taiwan, but not Ireland. Out of this office they have considerable networking databases and meetings to promote business. Ireland is not represented in the group. Is there a way within the new arrangements in Asia that someone could participate in this group looking after Irish business interests? Is there a cost issue? It is not a policy issue with China because other European Union countries are doing it.
