I have indicated to the Chairman and the committee that I do not believe this is the appropriate forum to deal with these issues. I recognise the committee's remit in terms of its responsibility to the taxpayer, of whom I am one. It is important that I be as open and transparent as I can be about the funding streams allocated to me and the potential loss regarding systems and processes and that I am the appropriate officer to deal with these issues. If I have a fundamental difficulty with someone who is making the allegations in the first instance being here and discussing them, I would have a similar difficulty with providing further information in that light. If there is a single ticket item - excuse the pun - or a single issue about which the Deputy might need confirmation in the context of a revenue stream or a matter of that nature, perhaps we can deal with it through correspondence.
