This special meeting with representatives of Irish Water, the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government and the Commission for Energy Regulation arises from a number of items of correspondence received from members requesting that such a meeting be held. Irish Water is not directly accountable to the committee and the Comptroller and Auditor General does not have a role in auditing its accounts. However, the Department, the regulator and Irish Water have agreed to come before us. The meeting is being held at 6.30 p.m. to accommodate Mr. Tierney who was anxious, if he was to come before the committee, that the meeting take place this week.
Deputy Kieran O'Donnell will be the lead speaker, followed by Deputy Sean Fleming and Deputy Mary Lou McDonald. Are there any queries in relation to that? I will ask the witnesses to-----
Mary Lou McDonald (Dublin Central, Sinn Fein)
