Oversight of Irish Water: Discussion

Okay. What we are hearing is very worrying. As matters stand, the local authorities levy different charges. Irish Water inherited some 200,000 commercial customers on 1 January and the Commission for Energy Regulation cannot even state whether it agrees with the system of different charges that applies among the local authorities. I will be blunt. Do our guests from the Commission for Energy Regulation have a role to play, in legal terms, at these proceedings if the commission has not yet been appointed as regulator for Irish Water?
