Public Accounts Committee

Section 38 - Agencies Remuneration

10:20 am

Mr. Jim Nugent:

Mr. Conlan was on personal leave at the time this issue broke. He kept in touch during the time he was away. Towards the end of it, I believe he felt there was a great intrusion into his personal life and that he would prefer to resign, given that he had only been a short time with the organisation as chief executive. He had been on the board for nine years as a representative of the Mater hospital, where he was chief executive officer at the time.
