The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality has completed its consideration of the following motion:That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measures:(i) Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council adapting to Article 290 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union a number of legal acts in the area of Justice providing for the use of the regulatory procedure with scrutiny, andcopies of which were laid before Dáil Éireann on 12th July, 2013 and 23rd August, 2013.
(ii) Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No. 1215/2012 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters,
