I am considering introducing an amendment to section 150 on Report Stage. The purpose of the amendment is to ensure that officers of companies may, in exceptional circumstances, apply for the Companies Registration Office to retract directors' residential addresses from the public register and to provide a legal basis for the appropriate authorities to access them. A further amendment may be required to ensure that a legal basis is provided for such addresses to be available for appropriate authorities who have legitimate reasons to request this information. I intend to amend the section further by making provision in subsection (12) for "married person or civil partner" and by making the section gender neutral by providing "his-her".
