I mentioned the definition of a bet should contain the words to the effect that a bet is a wager on an event to be decided in the future, as opposed to something that is commenced in the future but whose outcome is decided by a computerised random number generator. It is universally accepted that a bet is a wager on an event to be decided in future. The term "decided in the future" is a very serious part of the proposition.
