The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a number of European Union legislative proposals. We will first deal with the proposals listed in Schedule B. It is proposed that COM (2013) 252 does not require further scrutiny and that COM (2013) 58 be noted. Is that agreed? Agreed.

We will now take decisions on Schedule A items. COM (2013) 195 is a proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and Council amending directive 96/53/EC of 25 July 1996 laying down for certain road vehicles circulating within the Community the maximum authorised dimensions in national and international traffic and the maximum authorised weights in international traffic. It is suggested that this proposal warrants further scrutiny. It is proposed to identify the relevant stakeholders and meet them at a later date. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 296 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and Council establishing a framework on market access to port services and the financial transparency of ports. It is suggested that this proposal warrants further scrutiny. It is proposed to request that officials from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport attend a meeting with the joint committee to give a full explanation of this proposal and its impact to assist the committee in its scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

As there is no other business, I propose to adjourn the meeting.

The joint committee adjourned at 10.35 a.m. until Wednesday, 3 July 2013.
