It is proposed that the proposals listed in Schedule B do not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

We will now turn to items listed in Schedule A. JOIN/2013/0001 is a joint communication to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions entitled, Cybersecurity Strategy of the European Union: An Open, Safe and Secure Cyberspace. It is proposed that this joint communication warrants further scrutiny at a further meeting of the committee, in conjunction with COM (2013) 48, as that proposal arises from the joint communication. It is proposed, therefore, that a letter issue to the Secretary General of the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources requesting that when the committee meets departmental officials to consider COM (2013) 48, the Department also brief it on the joint communication. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 776 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on occurrence reporting in civil aviation, amending Regulation (EU) No. 996/2010 and repealing Directive No. 2003/42/EC, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1321/2007 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1330/2007. It is proposed that this proposal warrants further scrutiny by way of a letter to the Secretary General of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport stating the joint committee requests information on the outcome of the consultation process undertaken by the Department, especially in respect of the administrative burdens this proposal may place on the aviation industry, and that the committee would also like to be kept informed of further developments on the proposal. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 153 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council concerning the notification to the Commission of investment in energy infrastructure projects within the European Union, replacing Council Regulation (EU, EURATOM) No. 617/2010. COM (2013) 174 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on multiannual funding for the action of the European Maritime Safety Agency in the field of response to pollution caused by ships and to marine pollution caused by oil and gas installations. COM (2012) 584 is a proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council on the harmonisation of the laws of the member states relating to the making available on the market of radio equipment. It is proposed that these proposals do not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 772 is a proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council on maritime equipment, repealing Directive No. 96/98/EC. It is proposed to further scrutinise this directive by writing to the Department on the possible effects on stakeholders. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 658 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on the guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure, repealing Decision No. 1364/2006/EC. It is proposed to note this adopted measure. Is that agreed? Agreed.

I remind members of the Select Sub-committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport that we will meet the Minister, Deputy Leo Varadkar, at 6 p.m. in Committee Room 2 to deal with a motion regarding an EU-Israeli aviation agreement which has been referred to the sub-committee.

The joint committee adjourned at 10.10 a.m. sine die.
