PPARS was never fully rolled out. It exists in different locations in different phases and has not been implemented in some areas. As the Deputy will recall, some years ago - my knowledge of this is sketchy - there was a significant controversy around the cost and deployment of PPARS. Where it has been deployed, I understand it is a relatively efficient system, but it has never been rolled out nationally. It is in different places in different phases of its release and, therefore, does not at this time represent a unified solution for payroll processing in the health system.
