Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals

There are seven EU proposals for consideration today. The first is COM (2012) 371, a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council establishing specific conditions for fishing for deep sea stocks in the north-east Atlantic and provisions for fishing in international waters of the north-east Atlantic and repealing Regulation No. 2347/2002/EC. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 383 is a proposal for a Council regulation amending EU Regulation No. 44/2012 regarding fishing opportunities for capelin in Greenland waters. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 402 is a proposal for a Council regulation establishing the fishing opportunities for anchovy in the Bay of Biscay for the 2012-13 fishing season. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 413 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council amending Council Regulation No. 1100/2007/EC establishing measures for the recovery of the stock of European eel. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 432 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council amending Council Regulation No. 850/98/EC on the conservation of fishery resources through technical measures for the protection of juveniles of marine organisms. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 434 is a proposal for a Council decision on the position to be taken by the European Union within the joint committee set up under Article 11 of the agreement between the European Union, on the one part, and Georgia, on the other, on the protection of geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffs regarding the adoption of the rules of procedure of the joint committee. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2012) 447 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council amending Council Regulation No. 812/2004/EC laying down measures for incidental catches of cetaceans in fisheries and amending Regulation No. 88/98/EC. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.
