I thank the Chair. The right to a sworn inquiry prior to dismissal is a statutory right. It is set out in the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act 1944 amending the primary legislation of 1930. This is the explicit right to which we refer. At present, teachers have contractual rights in respect of limitations of distances over which they can be transferred and we seek to safeguard those contractual rights in the new dispensation.
