Credit Union Bill 2012: Discussion (Resumed)
11:40 am
Mr. Pat Owens:
There is no cap. There is no indication of what the percentage will be. There is no indication of what they will be based on; however, there is an indication that credit unions that cannot afford them will not be charged. Does this mean that the other credit unions must pay an extra amount to cover this? There is no certainty around any of the measures. The big issue for us is that we are being asked by the Central Bank on an ongoing basis to prepare projections for three to five years? How can we build projections when we have no idea of the sums of money that we will be charged?
