Petition on Pearse House Regeneration

One issue I have raised in the Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage is the fact that local authorities are covering for the Government. Dublin City Council has to be honest and say that the residents need it 100%. I see it myself. The Government is not giving the council the money to carry out the regeneration. We need to get the Minister, the Department and Dublin City Council in here and get to the bottom of this because it is completely unfair for the residents to live the way they live. This does not just affect the residents of this flat complex. There are other affected flat complexes in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and probably Waterford and Galway. I definitely know about Dublin, Cork and Limerick because people come to me. The regeneration should be given the go-ahead.
The deep retrofit is only a short-term solution. I have spoken to people down there. A lot of them are older people. Regarding accessibility, Mr. Maloney mentioned bathrooms and kitchens. That surely must be a big issue.
