Petition on Pearse House Regeneration

Eoin Hayes (Dublin Bay South, Social Democrats)
I thank Mr. Maloney for his contribution and the evidence he has given. This was a lot to prepare and put together. I thank the association for coming in. I am continually shocked by this every time I hear about it. I just cannot believe that it has gone on for as long as it has. As Senator Andrews said, this is 2025. I am trying to understand a little bit more because it goes beyond old comprehension that it has gone on this long.
I will try to ask some questions so that I do not take up too much time speaking. On the maintenance issue, this is probably the thing that frustrates me the most because Dublin City Council has an obligation to honour the human rights of its residents, as Mr. Maloney well knows and has been lobbying for. What is the timeline between when something is reported and when it is dealt with? Some issues go on forever, which is completely unacceptable, but what is the state of play with maintenance right now for Dublin City Council?
