Múnlú ár dTodhchaí Dátheangaigh agus Seirbhísí Poiblí Dátheangacha: Fondúireacht Eolaíochta Éireann
Dr. Ciar?n Seoighe:
Níl na struchtúir faoi leith ansin san fhondúireacht anois. Chualamar an rud céanna ón bhfoireann san FEÉ agus ón bpobal nuair a ritheamar an feachtas Ár dTodhchaí a Mhúnlú. An rud a dúirt mórchuid na ndaoine ná go bhfuil siad ag lorg na seansanna chun Gaeilge a labhairt in áiteanna nach bhfuil sa rang scoile. Some suggestions I thought were particularly good were Irish corners, tables and organisations, or streets in every city and town where Irish is welcomed and encouraged. That voice we heard from the public is the same voice we are hearing inside SFI as an organisation. We need to create opportunities where it is more natural for people to have those conversations. If people want to do formal training and learn Irish formally that is always available but the biggest request we are getting is to create opportunities for people to have conversations where even very basic Irish is welcome. One of the things that is sometimes seen as a limitation, and I feel it personally, is that people feel if they cannot speak it well they should not speak at all. Making any effort or using any few words is something we would welcome in the organisation.
