Foilsitheoireacht agus Léitheoireacht na Gaeilge: Plé (Atógáil).
Ms Katherine McSharry:
Ó thaobh na ndúshlán, tá foireann iontach againn. Ceapaim go bhfuil sé sin soiléir. Every time we undertake a new undertaking, the responsibilities of the National Library get bigger and bigger. At no point in our history has anything gone away. Everything gets added and added. Now we have a whole new opportunity in terms of online delivery. That is an extra.
Regarding the new development, the building and all the potential there, we are working all the time with our parent Department to work through what that will mean for our team and what resources we will need to support it. That is part of the work. It is not just the building and the exhibitions and the design. It is also about understanding what is the best way to provide services to the public in those spaces. We have amazing collections, which are crucial, but what we are about is people. That is the point of the national collections. They are there so people can access them. We are very mindful of those challenges, particularly with regard to the national language and how we can best support that. It is something we are very mindful of the whole time. We would be very grateful for the support and assistance of everybody in highlighting what we do and making sure the largest number of people are aware of it.
