There is a great risk with the corporate structure that has been constructed around the NMH DAC, particularly at board level and the relationship between the board and the master. The next master will be appointed by that board. There is risk associated with the construction of the board - the three, three and three. At some time in the future, a conservative Minister for Health might appoint three conservatives and the three members from St. Vincent's side are committed to upholding Catholic values basically. That is an inherent recipe for conflict with the board members from the NMH if they are of a mind to be liberal in the interpretation of women's reproductive rights.
