Credit union representatives say they have been disadvantaged by the regulatory framework. They refer to the fact that the regulatory capital requirements for credit unions are significantly higher than for the banks. They also refer to the lending limits that have been set in respect of credit unions. Is there anything the Central Bank can do to make it a more level playing field for them?
