The meeting today has been convened to discuss RTÉ's public service statement, Irish language services and correspondence of 16 May 2021 to the Minister, Deputy Martin, regarding concerns relating to the RTÉ Board appointments process.

I warmly welcome our guests who are joining us remotely via Microsoft Teams in committee room 1. I welcome Ms Moya Doherty, chairman of the RTÉ board and Ms Dee Forbes, general secretary of RTÉ. I am sorry Ms Forbes had to join us remotely and hopefully this will be the last time we will be meeting remotely. Hopefully, in future we will be able to meet in person.
