Sinn Féin will be doing the same as Deputy Collins. I do not think it will come as a shock to anybody that we will be opposing this because it is an utterly unfair system in terms of the operation of penalty points. We have had two false dawns regarding putting this framework in place. People are not necessarily against a penalty points system per sebut there must be fairness. The amendments put forward by Deputy Mac Lochlainn will deal specifically with some of those issues. There is no level of fairness in this and our position is that we will be voting against it. Individual issues pale into insignificance when one does not deal with the unfairness that is at the heart of this legislation.
