I might come in on that. The provision around the liability of members of An Garda Síochána with respect to breaches of the Act and breaches of the code does not provide blanket liability to those members. In essence, it says that a breach of the code or provision of the Act in and of itself will not make them liable for civil or criminal proceedings. It is not blanket liability.

I will clarify what is provided for in head 5 in relation to destruction of or tampering with body-worn cameras or the data obtained from them. It is intended that this provision will apply to An Garda Síochána in the same way that it would apply to anybody else. If there is any confusion as to whether that applies, it can be addressed during drafting.
