I thank Mr. O'Connor. My next question is for the Department officials. Will they explain to me why members of An Garda Síochána are exempt from any criminal liability including the one set out in this legislation? The Policing Authority's submission speaks about trusting the gardaí but then we carve out an exemption in the legislation around the law on their own liability.
