I thank Ms O'Sullivan and Professor Crowley for coming before the committee. I thank Ms O'Sullivan, in particular, for sharing her story again. A lot of us have had the honour of hearing her story. She has shared it and has been exceptionally brave. As she said, she is just one person. This is a challenge that many individuals are facing.

As a committee, we deal with laws and regulations. Things can get very technical at times. Ultimately, our challenge is to ensure that Ms O'Sullivan's rights, reputation and dignity are respected. This is what we have to achieve from this Bill. I refer to Ms O'Sullivan's experience with social media companies, in this case Instagram. What does she believe companies can do in order to specifically address this problem?

In establishing an online safety commissioner, we are considering the introduction of an individual complaints mechanism. If somebody like Ms O'Sullivan went to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and the company failed to take action, how would she like to see an individual complaints mechanism work? Ms O'Sullivan has spoken about her experience with the Garda. What additional training and resources does she believe gardaí need to have in these circumstances?
