We focus in particular on non-interest Government expenditure, which is projected to fall by 5% of GDP between 2015 and 2020. There is a graph in the report that shows it has fallen to levels that have not been seen in the decades for which we have data. This is not credible, given that it does not adequately take into account demographic pressures, nor does it take account of the underlying pressures in terms of the cost of providing Government services. It is unlikely to happen.
