This Congreve estate issue has been dragging on and the OPW has been asked about it a number of times. Deputy Deasy has raised the issue and is familiar with it as the estate is in his constituency. I visited the estate and believe the State would benefit by keeping ownership of it. It is a fantastic property and I am surprised the OPW has not got over the line in regard to reaching some form of agreement by now. It was reported that progress was being made and that matters were working out. Would it be wrong to suggest that the reason it has gone in a different direction is that the OPW has not been as proactive as it should have been?
