Committee of Inquiry into the Banking Crisis
Context Phase
Susan O'Keeffe (Labour) | Oireachtas source
When Professor Honohan was here, I asked him why, despite the failings and lack of management and oversight at the Central Bank during the time, nobody had resigned or had been asked to resign from the Central Bank. In his reply, he said various things had changed, but that he had organised his organisation to be effective and functional and was not sure he should have expressed a view on whether people should have resigned. As a member of the Central Bank board, does Professor FitzGerald think people there might have resigned or been asked to resign, given that accountability is something we should value?
