Clerk to the Committee:

A Garda file has been opened. That is the information we have given to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. There is provision in the legislation to deal with that matter and to get declarations from either him or from the committee. We can deal with that as a legal issue. The issues that are being raised now are primarily ones in which we need to take legal advice and to deal with as a legal matter.
