Yesterday I attended the Cork city joint policing forum. The Cork city coroner, Dr. Myra Cullinane, put a very strong emphasis on the issue of alcohol being a gateway drug and the way it was becoming the pathway introduction for young people. At a later stage, when we see the heads of the sale of alcohol Bill, announced recently by the Minister of State, Deputy White, the committee should come back to this issue. It is important that we not only dwell on the issue of alcohol but that we take the points being made today at this committee meeting and articulate them strongly when we discuss that Bill. I call Deputy Troy.
